Friends on PopIn are mutual, not one-way like followers, which keeps your feed high signal and full of people you actually know.
Three ways to add friends
Your invite link
Every account has a unique link in Settings → Account → Invite friends. Share it anywhere. When someone signs up from your link, they're auto-added as a friend request.
Search
Tap the search bar at the top, switch to the People tab, search by name or @username, then tap Add friend.
From an event
If you're on someone's guest list, you can send them a friend request straight from the event page.
Pending requests show up in People → Requests. Accepting one makes it a friendship; declining is silent.
Friend vs Follow
| Friend | Follow | |
|---|---|---|
| Relationship | Two-way mutual | One-way |
| See their friend-only events | Yes | No |
| They see your friend-only events | Yes | No |
| Public posts in your feed | Yes | Yes |
| Mutual-friend recommendations | Yes | No |
| Use for | People you actually know | Creators, distant acquaintances, brands |
Friend requests are private. If someone declines yours, you don't get notified and the request just disappears. No awkward "Alex declined your request" message.
Removing a friend
Open their profile, tap the friend badge near their name, then Remove friend. The removal is silent and any friend-only events you had visibility to become hidden again. You can re-friend by sending a new request.
