PopIn is built and run by one person. No investors and no team, just one developer and the server bills that turn up every month. Support from people who use it is what keeps PopIn running and growing.
How to support
Support happens on Ko-fi, a site for supporting creators. You don't need a Ko-fi account to chip in.
Monthly (the big one)
Tick Make this monthly on Ko-fi. A small amount every month is the most useful kind of support, because it's what PopIn can actually plan around. Change or cancel it on Ko-fi any time.
One-off
Buy a coffee once. Any amount helps, however small.
The Lights On Crew badge
Support monthly using the same email address as your PopIn account and the Lights On Crew badge lands on your profile, usually within a day. Your email needs to be verified on PopIn so the two can be matched. If you supported before you signed up, the badge arrives once your account and email are set up.
Used a different email on Ko-fi? Use the feedback tool to let us know and we'll sort it out.
How often you'll be asked
Rarely, and never while you're supporting:
- A "From the dev" card can show up in your feed, at most once a fortnight, never in your first two weeks, and not for two months after you dismiss it. Turn it off in Settings → Feed.
- An occasional email, at most twice a year. Every one has a link to stop them.
- A Support PopIn section in Settings and a link in the footer, if you go looking.
Supporting is completely optional. PopIn works exactly the same either way.
Support links only appear on the website, not inside the iOS and Android apps.
