Hiding your event's address

Show the suburb to everyone, the full address only to people who RSVP.

You don't always want a street address visible to everyone who can see the event, especially for a house party or a Public event. PopIn lets you control exactly how much of the location guests see.

The three options

Set this with Address visibility in the Details tab when creating or editing your event.

OptionWhat guests see
Exact addressEveryone who can see the event sees the full street address.
Suburb onlyJust the suburb. The street address stays hidden from guests entirely.
Reveal when GoingShows the suburb until a guest RSVPs Going, then unlocks the full address.
The common setup

Reveal when Going is the sweet spot for most parties: people can see roughly where it is before deciding, and only those actually coming get your door number.

It applies to no-account guests too

Address visibility is enforced the same way for everyone, signed up or not. A no-account guest on Reveal when Going sees the suburb until they tap Going on their invite link, then the full address appears. The host always sees the full address.

Note

This is separate from event visibility (who can find the event at all). Visibility controls who reaches the page; address visibility controls how much of the location they see once they're there.
