The search bar sits in the top bar on every page. It looks through people, events, and posts (and even your settings), so one box covers "what was that event called" and "where do I change my username" alike.
Quick search
Start typing
Two characters is enough. Results appear as you type, grouped into People, Events, Posts, and Settings, with the top three of each.
Tap a result, or press Enter for everything
Tapping a result takes you straight there. Enter opens the full results page with tabs for each type and a Filters panel: sort by relevance or recent, date range, location, your RSVP, mutual friends only, online now, posts with an image.
Tap the empty search box and your recent searches appear, along with any searches you've saved. Clear wipes the recents.
Advanced search
For the proper detective work, tap Advanced on the results page (or go to /search/advanced). Everything from the quick filters plus:
- Exact phrase and exclude words, find "summer party" but skip "work".
- Author, only results from one person.
- Near me, tap Use my current location and pick a radius from 1 to 500 km.
- Save search, name a search you'll run again and it lives in your Saved list, one tap from the search box.
Hashtags
Any #hashtag in a post is tappable, it opens a page of every post using that tag. Add hashtags to your own posts to land on those pages.
The feed's sidebar also has a Trending widget: the most-used hashtags from the last 7 days, with post counts. Tap one to see what the fuss is.
Search respects visibility. You'll only ever find events and posts you could see anyway, private things stay private. Looking for people specifically? See Finding friends.
